Castle Prisons.
Some castles have prisons but some don't. The castles that do have them the prison room's are very small. With a little bench or not ever a bench. Some have windows but some are just dark and scary, pitch black. The doors had a little small opening so the prisoner could get their food. In some castle's the prison was at the tallest point so intruders could not break them out. The way to go to the prison is you had to disobey the prince or you committed a crime of you are just a prisoner of war. I would hate to go to a prison. they sound horrible.
Protective features of a Castle.
Some protective features of a castle are a moat witch is a river going around the castle. I would not want to fall into that. Another feature is the big walls that the castle has around it so enemy's cant climb into the castle. A draw bridge is a protective feature because that is the only way in and out of the castle but there might be a secret way out of the castle. Most castles have one secret way out because if the enemy get in the city the price and people can get out that way. castles had big crossbows on top of the big walls to shoot the enemy. That would be cool to shoot but not to die by though. castles have also
Castle structure
Some castles were made of wood, stone, brick. That’s some strong stuff.
Most castles was built on a cliff or had a moat around them. Even thought
Most castles were made of stone most of them had a very large walls and so
High that people could not climb over them. All castles had some prisons .
One castle was made of clay. Most castles were big and had tall towers and most castles could hold large amounts of people for the market and such. Did you know that some castles have a escape hole of tunnel leading out of the castle so if they get attacked the people can flee the castle. Some castles have many rooms. One king slept in a different room every night do people could not kill him. That is a very smart idea though. I wouldn't want to die in my own castle.
