The first castle ever recorded was build in 900 A.D. That’s a long time ago. The first castle was built out of wood. You think now that would hold nothing but back then people traveled on horses and fought with swords so the wood could hold a lot of force. The castle was reported to be in Italy made by Vikings. The castles had big walls and had a moat around it.
Also, had a draw bridge like castles do now. Some of the first castles were built on cliffs and rocks. So don’t fall of the castle wall. In the first castle the prince and his warriors lived in the castle. After the first castle was built many other towns and kings started to build castles too. In the picture to the right you can see that the first castle was built on a hill or had a moat around it.
